Are you interested in improv but want a chance to dip your toe in the water before jumping all the way in? Take a drop in class. This is a great opportunity to preview an All Out Comedy class before the next session begins. The class will include improv exercises and games in a comfortable and fun environment. We will focus on active listening and getting out of our heads with the guidance of a teacher.

An intro workshop into the how-to’s and the how-don’ts of video content creation. These classes are designed for actors, creatives, or writers who have a vision that they’d like to either create from scratch or refine with professional skills. All subjects are applicable to large scale productions as well, so this is a great opportunity to get familiar with production in a fun and engaging way. Curriculum includes:
Cell Phone filming techniques using FilmicPro
Proper lighting (ring lights, three points, daylight)
White balance, color correction, focus peaking, frame rate, motion blur, stabilization, storage management, and more
Makeup for camera (Masculine and Feminine)
External microphones and the fundamentals of recording audio for film
Synchronization between an external mic and a camera
How to avoid clipping
Microphone placement
Room tone
Editing with DaVinci Resolve (Free, industry standard Windows/Mac compatible)
Quick workflows, proper rendering orders, color correction tools, LUTs
Audio enhancements and correction such as de-noising and the fundamentals of EQ, audio compression, and limiting
Publishing with proper settings to maintain high quality
Fundamentals of bitrate, bit depth, and file types

Learn the basics of sketch comedy in a supportive environment with your peers, and practice all kinds of sketch writing -- topical, musical, commercial parody, it's all good! We'll cover the fundamentals and build our team attitude through table reads and mutual support. By the time our class is over, you'll have the experience you need to put together a comedy writer's portfolio and the material to fill it. Let's do this!

This workshop recognizes and validates the moments when improvisors feel uncomfortable on stage. Here improvisors will discuss those moments and practice tools to address them on stage within the context of a scene or game.

Shannon Stott is an improvisor based in Austin, TX.
She has been performing and teaching Improv to theater students and corporate clients since 2001.
Shannon utilizes improv as a tool to change lives both on and off the stage,
encouraging her students to carry these tools out of their theaters and into their workplaces and homes.

Join sketch veteran John Loos as he runs you through a 6-week gauntlet of solo sketch forms, perspectives and nuances so you can boldly craft great solo sketch scenes performed by one amazing person (you!)
The Instructor
John Loos is an LA-based writer and actor with nearly 20 years of sketch and improv experience. He has performed for The Second City and taught and directed sketch their sketch writing program. He was a featured contributor to the Second City Network and has performed in countless sketch shows with GayCo Productions and his own two-person sketch groups Pinque Pony and Jody. He has written and performed two solo sketch revues, Adorable Disasters (Annoyance) and the Reader recommended John Loos' SNL Showcase (Annoyance), while directing several acclaimed solo sketch shows including Julie Marchiano's Nuggets (Women's Funny Fest). In 2018, his sketch comedy pilot John Loos: Too Big For This World was nominated for 4 Indie Series Awards (including Best Actor and Best Comedy Writing) and selected for multiple festivals, including the New York Television Festival and OUT Web Fest. For his day job, he writes comedy scenes for pharma companies, which is nearly impossible.

All Out Comedy is offering online improv jams every Tuesday and Thursday. All Levels are welcome. We'll be doing improvised scenes with participants via Zoom. The Zoom meeting is private, and not viewable to the public.
The host will go over how to interact with Zoom at the beginning of each Jam. Please arrive on time so that everyone is up to speed at the same time. Looking forward to having giggles with you online.
