Sketch Comedy Writing Begins

  • All Out Comedy Theater 2550 Telegraph Avenue Oakland, CA, 94612 United States (map)

Learn the basics of sketch comedy in a supportive environment with your peers, and practice all kinds of sketch writing -- topical, musical, commercial parody, it's all good! We'll cover the fundamentals and build our team attitude through table reads and mutual support.

By the time our class is over, you'll have the experience you need to put together a comedy writer's portfolio and the material to fill it. Let's do this!

The series will end with a table read of the students writing by other actors or the author as an optional choice.

All students will receive a student ID card during their session. This gives students access to watch as many shows for free while taking classes.

The Instructor

Ari Neubauer is the writer, performer and sketch comedy teacher at All Out Comedy Theater in Oakland, a student of comedy from UCB Los Angeles, Endgames and Oaktown Improv, as well as the director and lead writer of the quarantine hit comedy sketch show Traumapeutic. Let's hear how former students describe him: "Ari is a joy to work with. His teaching style is rooted in helping others find joy through simple truths and self-discovery."
